Humantay Lagoon impresses with its turquoise glacial waters, beautiful Andean landscapes, and sacred energy that symbolizes harmony with Pachamama and helps connect with the serenity of nature.
Our adventure to Humantay Lagoon begins early with pickup from your hotel in Cusco. We will travel in a tourist vehicle to the village of Mollepata, where we will enjoy a delicious traditional breakfast with panoramic views of the Andes. Then we will continue to Soraypampa, the starting point of our hike to Humantay Lagoon.
The ascent takes about one and a half to two hours along a trail surrounded by mountains, Andean vegetation, and highland wildlife. Although the hike requires physical effort, reaching Humantay Lagoon makes it all worthwhile, as its turquoise waters and the snow-capped mountain of the same name reflect the majesty of the Andes.
After enjoying this magical place, we will return to Soraypampa and then to Mollepata for a traditional lunch before heading back to Cusco.

Both the traditional breakfast and lunch are served in the village of Mollepata. Please note that this will be at a countryside restaurant setting, as the location is outside the city. This approach ensures you have a substantial meal both before and after the demanding trek.
The uphill hike from Soraypampa takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. It is considered moderately to difficult due to the high altitude and the steepness of the trail. It requires considerable physical effort. The stunning reward is the turquoise-colored lagoon.
The uphill hike (one way) is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. The exact time will greatly depend on your individual pace and, if you are in a group service, on the rhythm of the entire group and everyone's acclimatization level.
Yes. While you don't need to be an experienced hiker, it is highly recommended to have an acceptable physical condition, as the trek is demanding in a high-altitude environment. We strongly suggest spending at least 2 days in Cusco or a similar high-altitude city for proper acclimatization before taking the tour.
The trail is surrounded by majestic mountains, with the Salkantay snow-capped peak visible in the background, Andean vegetation, and the possibility of observing local high-altitude wildlife. Upon arrival, you will see the Humantay Lagoon with its vibrant turquoise waters and the imposing Humantay Peak reflecting upon them.
